Bristol County 24-Hour Release Check
The Bristol County Sheriff's Office does not publish a named 24-hour release list. It also offers no public current-inmate roster, booking-photo feed, release archive, or sheriff lookup app. That absence controls the search. There is no official page to sort by today, no person-level release fields to read, and no stated update cycle. The closest official web item is the BCSO homepage, which displays dated totals for Dartmouth, the Women's Center, Ash Street, regional detainees, and “Not In Custody.” Those totals do not name anyone. A change between two totals cannot identify who left, why a count changed, or whether a person entered another unit.
For a same-day Bristol County release, start with the legal event. Bail posted, personal recognizance, a dismissal, a sentence ending, or another court order may authorize release. The sheriff still must process the event and check for a warrant, detainer, or receiving agency. A detainer is a request or legal basis to hold or transfer a person for another authority. That makes the court order strong evidence of the release basis but not always the exact door-exit time.

The separate “Not In Custody” number is still only a count. It cannot be reverse-engineered into names or same-day release events.
Check Bristol County Releases Today
A useful same-day check follows the custody path in order. It does not treat one website as a complete answer. Bristol County has four sheriff facilities, several possible court divisions, and receiving systems that cover state, federal, or immigration custody. Use the person's full name, the date, the arresting agency, and the docket number when known. The docket number is often the best key because remote criminal name searching has limits.
- Identify whether the person was at Ash Street, the Dartmouth main jail, the Women's Center, or the Modular Building. Call BCSO at 508-995-6400 when the unit is unclear.
- Search the MassCourts eAccess docket for the court order, or contact the owning Bristol court clerk when remote data is not available.
- For bail, compare the court event with BCSO's published processing windows. An order or payment does not set an exact exit time.
- Ask BCSO a narrow custody question. For a record, use the records access officer and describe an existing record instead of asking the office to create a new daily list.
- If the record shows a transfer, search the receiving system. Massachusetts VINE covers MA DOC only; BOP covers federal custody; ICE has its own current locator.
- Confirm the final status with the court, BCSO, or the receiving agency. Keep the release type and destination separate.
The process is for one known person or event. Bristol County Release Fields
Because no Bristol County 24-hour feed exists, the public web display returns none of the usual person-level fields. The fields below are items to locate across the court docket, an authorized custody record, and a receiving-agency record. They are not a claim that each field is public. Massachusetts treats identifiable information about incarceration and release as CORI, and BCSO says it cannot provide CORI through its general public-record process.

A release record is most useful when it shows both the event and the destination. “Court release” identifies legal authority. It does not by itself rule out a second warrant or transfer. Likewise, a DOC admission after a Bristol event can be fully consistent with a BCSO record coded as released to another agency.
Bristol County Release Records Fallback
The BCSO public-record request page identifies the records access route. A request should reasonably describe an existing record. Give the subject, date range, facility, booking date, and the specific nonexempt or segregable item sought. Do not ask BCSO to compile a new “everyone released today” report. The office may deny or redact person-level release data as CORI, direct the subject to an authorized personal-record path, or provide a written exemption basis.
Massachusetts public-record law calls for production or a written response within ten business days. That point is a response rule, not a promise of same-day evidence and not a guarantee that protected fields will be disclosed. A narrow request for policy, an existing aggregate report, or a segregable field is more precise than a request for a whole custody file.

The source supports the records fallback, but it does not turn the public-record channel into a named 24-hour release service.
Bristol County Release or Transfer
Bristol County does not provide a public named roster that can settle the distinction. A person who remains in BCSO custody may be in a different Dartmouth unit, at court, in medical movement, or transferred from Ash Street. A person who has left BCSO may have returned to the community, started probation or parole, entered MA DOC, or moved to a federal or immigration authority. Aggregate numbers cannot distinguish those results.

Massachusetts VINE is not a backup Bristol jail roster. The state expressly says only MA DOC participates. A missing VINE result is expected for a person whose whole custody episode occurred at a Bristol County facility.
When Bristol County Bail Releases Process
BCSO publishes detailed bail-processing times even though it publishes no release list. Weekday regional runs are scheduled for 4:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., midnight, and 3 a.m. Weekend and holiday processing adds 9 a.m. and noon. Bail parties must check in 30 minutes early at the Women's Center security desk. On the third Wednesday of each month, the 7:30 p.m. run is cancelled for Trial Court maintenance.
These are processing windows. They are not promised exit times. A person may still face a warrant, detainer, paperwork issue, or receiving-agency transfer. The court docket should be read with BCSO confirmation rather than using a scheduled run as proof that someone walked out.

Why Bristol County Has No Feed
Bristol is a true no-feed county. BCSO has no named current roster, 24-hour list, 72-hour list, archive, photo feed, or official inmate lookup app. The homepage totals are operational context only. Its records page also explains the central access limit: identifiable release information falls within Massachusetts criminal offender record information rules.
This means “who was released today?” cannot be answered by subtracting one day's total from another. Counts can change because of court transport, movement between the Dartmouth buildings, Ash Street transfers, admissions, releases, or data timing.
